Reaching out to Victorians in need

1. How do I volunteer at Foodbank Victoria?
- We rely heavily on volunteers to be able to do what we do and
we’re always in need of more. For details about volunteering please
click on the volunteer with us tab in the left navigation bar.
2. What sort of jobs can I do as a volunteer at Foodbank
Victoria?
- Volunteer roles include food rescue and re-packaging, general
warehouse assistance, helping community organisations on
their “shopping trips” to Foodbank Victoria, and we are always in
need of assistance in our offices.
- We are also always on the lookout for volunteers with
specialist areas of expertise.

3. Can I register my company
to volunteer?
Yes, please do! We have an average of 100 corporate
volunteers each month and are always in need of more. To register

4. What’s in it for
me?
- The satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a real difference to
the hundreds of thousands of Victorians currently experiencing
hardship.
- We recently surveyed our corporate volunteer groups and it
turns out they’re not only satisfied, but exceedingly “happy” to
volunteer with us too (see chart below).

- Rating of Group Volunteer Session with 131 responses from
September 2009 – March 2010
- We’re also told we’re a friendly, fun bunch of people to work
alongside and as one of our regular volunteers, Nola Cook, put it
to the Maribyrnong Leader Newspaper in a recent interview;
“I think they do a lot more for
me than I do for them. They make me feel really useful”.
- And we can certainly promise every one of our volunteers will
feel useful during their shift!
